Rainolds (Reynolds), John 1549-1607

John Rainolds (or Reynolds) (1549 - May 21, 1607), English divine, was born about Michaelmas 1549 at Pinhoe, near Exeter. He was initiator of the project to prepare the Authorized Version of the Bible, and himself worked with the company who undertook the translation of the Prophets. He was President of Corpus Christi College, Oxford 1598-1607.
