McKnight, John 1754-1823
John McKnight was minister of Elk Branch Presbyterian Church, Virginia (1775-1783), a charter trustee of Dickinson College (1783-1794), minister of Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian church, Adams County, Pennsylvania (1783?-1789), colleague Pastor with the Rev. Dr. Rodgers of the united Presbyterian Congregation of the city of New York (1789-1809), a trustee and professor of moral philosophy and logic at Columbia University (1795-1801), moderator of the Presbyterian General Assembly (1795), fourth president of Dickinson College (1815-1816), and stated supply of the Presbyterian Church at Rocky Spring, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania (1816-1823).
