Robert Asty 1642-1681

 Robert Asty (1642-1681) was born in Stratford, England. He established a school at Dedham about the year 1663 where he taught for the next ten years. In 1668 he married Lydia Sammes and they bore seven children. Asty undertook the preaching ministry in 1672 and was called to the pastorate at Norwich in 1674 where he labored until his death on October 14, 1681.

This is his best known work. It was first published in 1683, then again in 1901 and 1990. Included are two additional sermons—"The Hope of the Saints in Heaven" and "A Christian’s Freedom from Condemnation in Christ."
