Cooper, Robert 1732-1805

Robert Cooper was born in the North of Ireland. His mother brought the family to America when he was about nine. The family settled in Pennsylvania, probably in or near Lancaster or Carlisle. He graduated from the College of New Jersey in 1763. He was ordained and installed as pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Middle Spring on July 21, 1765. Here Mr. Cooper continued his labours, with great fidelity and usefulness, for thirty-one years.
