Samuel Blair (1741-1818), a son of Samuel Blair of Ireland, was born at Fog's Manor, Chester county, Pennsylvania. He married in 1769 a daughter of Dr. Shippen, the elder, of Philadelphia. He published in 1761 an Oration on the Death of George II.
